South American sea lions are opportunistic feeders
with a diet of pelagic and bottom species including fish, cephalopods
(like e.g. squid)
and crustaceans. They feed mostly in coastal areas and are considered as
competitors for the coastal fishing industry. South American sea lions
are preyed on by sharks and orcas.
