The diet consists of several species both coastal and from the
continental shelf including fish (e.g. anchovies, sardines and
mackerel), cephalopods (e.g. octopus), crustaceans and gastropods.
Individuals
usually forage at night and will dive for 3 minutes to an average depth
of 40m, but will reach a maximum of 7 minutes and 170m in pursuit
of food.
