The breeding season is in the austral spring and summer (September to
December). Females reach sexual maturity at an age of 5 with a
size of 1,3m while males reach sexual maturity at about 6 to 8 years of
age.
Gestation lasts about 11 months and the calves are about 60 - 70cm when
born, weight between 5 - 8kg and their coloration is dark with grey
zones. The lactation period is about 6 months, the life span is
up to 18 years.
